Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is semi permanent Brow tattoo design that allows to maintain the clients individual facial features, structure and natural brow shape. During the microblading procedure small incisions are made into the skin with a hand held tool, a microneedle (microblade) and a small amount of pigment. The pigment I use is 100% free of heavy metals including Iron Oxide. The pigments are also free of Tatrazine which lessens the potential for an allergic reaction and it is also a hydrophobic pigment which means it will not migrate under the skin, making the hair strokes much sharper in appearance. Although this procedure is a little like tattooing there is a major difference between Microblading and permanently tattooed brows. Brows created by Microblading technique will fade within a year, although everyones body reacts differently too. The Microblading technique allows for a much more natural appearance.

How long does Microblading last?

Each indiviual will experience slightly different results as not one skin or body is the same. Microblading usually lasts for one year, this depends on factors such as medication, skincare, professional skin treatments and skin type. Some clients may need a small touch up at 6 months and some may need it at 12 to 18 months.

Is Microblading procedure painful?

Yes and no! It really depends on the individuals pain tollerance. Some clients have explained it to feel like a small sharpe pinch and others have said that it is nothing worse than tweezing. If you have ever had a real tattoo then Microblading will be a walk in the park.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for Microblading and what will it look like after the proceedure?

One of the many Pro's of Microblding is the fact that you do not need to do anything in preparation for the proceedure unless you are looking at having cosmetic surgery, cosmetic injections or professinal skin treatments where you will not be able to have a Microblading procedure within 2 weeks or until your doctor has advised. I would also advise to wear minimal to no makeup on the day of your appointment.

Imediatley after Microblading the colour will appear much darker than when the skin heals and within the short period of time (7-14 days) the colour will lighten upto 40%. The size of treated area will also shrink by 15% and your new Brows look much more natural in appearance.

How long does the procedure take?

Brow Microblading is a 2 hour appointment. Why? Because I do not rush!!

The initial appointment includes a consultation where you are able to ask any questions about any concerns you have or if you want more information on the process and aftercare. A Brow shape is then stenciled onto the skin and then digitally checked for symmetry and then the actual Microblading proceedure is undertaken.

What do I need to do for aftercare?

I can not stress enough how important it is to follow through with the aftercare procedure to achieve the best possible results. I supply you with an aftercare sheet which has all the instructions for what you will need to do to take care of your new Brows. If it is not listed on the aftercare sheet, then don't do it as it may affect the overall outcome. It is a simple process but must be followed as described. No makeup, swimming, spas, saunas or direct water on the treated area for 7-14 days until the skin is healed and smooth. The one and only time you will be able to apply water directly  on the area is 30 minutes after the initial procedure with luke warm water to remove any lymph that the skin has excreted. This is repeated every 1 1/2 to 2 hours for the first day only. From the second day you will then need to apply aftercare cream to the treated area 3-4 times a day for the next 7-14 days for normal and dry skins and 2-3 per day for oily and combination skins. Making sure to wipe off any old cream before reapplying. You do not need to over do it but making sure that the skin is glossy, if the skin is itchy then you are not applying enough cream. As stated you will be provided with an aftercare sheet to take home to refer back to.

How long will it take for my skin to recover?

It usually takes 7-14 days for the skin to heal and become smooth. It takes about one month for the pigment to completely settle and by this time you will be due for a follow up appointment where any areas that need to be touched up and perfected can be completed in this session.
